Sit House, Sit

I'm doing a house sit in Brisbane until the end of July, and it's all a bit of a chore. I have to look after this large, comfortable house in a quiet suburb, with its massive plasma HDTV, full Optus broadband, two shtonking gaming PCs, well-stocked fridges and comfy bed, and I even have to keep the family minivan's battery charged by forcing myself to drive it regularly around the city. Life is hard.

Despite these hardships, I am enjoying myself. Physio is going well, I've polished off HL2: Episode One and the Prey demo, played a bit of multiplayer Civ 4 and I've got God of War waiting to be played on the big screen. I've caught up with quite a few friends, but quite a few have been incredibly slack and not gotten back to me yet. You know who you are, you bunch of... typical slack Brisbane people.

I guess I'm still technically on holidays, which makes all the gaming and DVD-watching all right. I did send my resume out to try and get a short contract for my time up here, but from the deafening silence in my email box, I can suppose that extraordinary luck wasn't with me this time around. Perhaps if I'd put "Can I get a six week contract smearing ice cream all over hot aerobics instructors that pays more than $150 an hour?" the pure ridiculousness of the request would've made something happen. Then again, perhaps not.
